To address the growing need for student support in Minnesota, we are proud to announce four new positions with Reading Corps, Math Corps, and Early Learning Corps! These positions, called Impact Fellows, will serve from June 2024 – May 2025, supporting both summer enrichment and high-impact tutoring during the school year.
Over the summer, fellows will serve with partner organizations where they will support academic enrichment activities for local youth. Then in the fall, members will join the team at a nearby school or child care center where they will use evidence-based strategies to help students build strong skills. Fellows in all three programs will also plan and lead a service project related to the needs of their school community.
- Reading Impact Fellows will assist staff with summer literacy programs, conduct one-on-one tutoring sessions, and foster supportive student relationships to help them become better readers.
- K-3 Math Impact Fellows and 4-8 Math Impact Fellows will support summer programs for fun math projects and games, tutor small groups of students throughout the year, monitor progress, and help them build math skills.
- Early Learning Corps Impact Fellows will assist program staff with summer programs for children ages three to five, encourage learning through dynamic activities, and spend the school year embedded in a preschool classroom, fostering early literary and math skills.
Impact Fellows will serve full-time (40 hours per week) and receive a stipend of $1,325 every two weeks, for a total of $34,450 for the year (1,700 hours). They also qualify for an education award of $6,895, as well as federal student loan forbearance and interest repayment. Free individual health insurance and child care assistance is also available.
Opportunities are primarily located in southern Minnesota and the Twin Cities metro area. Whether you’re a recent grad looking to take a gap year, you’re interested in exploring a new career, or you simply want to invest in yourself and your community, this is a perfect opportunity to be part of something greater. We encourage you to learn more and apply before the May 1st deadline!
