Alexis serves as a Scholar Coach through the Total Learning Classroom Initiative of Reading Corps. She is on track to become a school social worker, and serving has been exactly what she needed to propel her career forward.
“I’ve worked in a lot of roles, but this is my favorite,” she says. “I’m excited to come to work every day and excited to learn and try new things. The trainings were exceptional. The staff and management are exceptional. They trust us to get the job done and know that we’re making a difference. And the kids: you really fall in love with them after just a few weeks.
