Virtual tutoring with child on a laptop

Virtual Tutoring Positions Available This Summer!

We’re looking for 150 Minnesotans to help kids build their reading and math skills this summer. Virtual tutors will serve a minimum of 32 hours a week and tutor students in grades K-8 via online sessions. This is a great opportunity to put your passion in action!

The pandemic has disrupted instruction and created significant challenges for students across the state,” explains Sadie O’Connor, managing director. “We know that many students will benefit from the extra practice and skill building tutors provide and we’re committed to making this support available over the summer months.”

Summer Reading Corps and Math Corps tutors will serve May 23 – August 20 supporting Minnesota students in grades K-8. Tutoring sessions will be conducted online Monday through Friday and a variety of shifts are available.  As AmeriCorps members, tutors will serve a total of 300 hours this summer and earn $5,320 plus an additional $1,342 that can be used for college tuition or student loans.

While giving back to their communities, tutors also qualify for additional benefits including federal student loan forbearance and interest repayment, free individual health insurance and child care assistance (based on family size and income).

With great training and coaching, people from all walks of life make great tutors. The most important qualification is a desire to help students succeed. Please take a moment to help us spread the word that tutors are needed this summer!
