In case you missed it, our team in Florida hosted a virtual Power Hour to celebrate their impact as part of Give Miami Day 2022! After Executive Director Chanelle Pough welcomed us online, we saw Early Learning Corps alumni and staff, tutoring demonstrations from current members, school principals, and even performances from local artists.

Launched in 2015 as Florida Reading Corps, the program was renamed this year to better reflect the program’s focus on both early numeracy and literacy.
The Power Hour started off by highlighting the Early Learning Corps tutors and alumni who joined the call on Give Miami Day 2022. There were over 70 people watching!
Tutors shared three of the songs they use in their classrooms and demonstrated how they help students learn to read and count.
Special guests Steven Valentine and Sharion Davis – Miami educators – shared performances celebrating the day and the incredible impact of Florida Early Learning Corps.
