Career Pathways by State
We currently have opportunities for tutors that are looking for a more affordable option to earning their master’s degree and/or teaching license in Minnesota and Georgia. With Reading Corps, Math Corps, and Early Learning Corps tutors on the ground across the country, additional programs and partnerships will be coming soon!
Minnesota
A partnership with the University of Minnesota, MNGOT (Grow Your Own Teacher) is a two-year pathway to earning a master’s of education and K-6 teaching certification. Participants earn a paycheck every two weeks, receive a $3K tuition discount, $10K in tuition assistance (AmeriCorps Segal Education Award), and qualify for generous scholarships from the University of Minnesota. The next cohort begins in the fall of 2025.

Georgia
In Georgia, we have joined the Enterprise Learning Partnership at Mercer University. Tutors can choose from the following programs and tuition grants:
- Paraprofessionals for Initial Teacher Certification (BS.Ed & MAT)
25% Tuition Grant
- Early Learning and Development Program – Certification & Non-certification (Birth-Kindergarten)
25% Tuition Grants
- Graduate Students – Practicing Teachers/Teacher Leaders/Admins
10% Tuition Grants
A second opportunity is available thanks to a partnership with Georgia State University. Tutors in good standing who already have a bachelor’s degree can apply to GSU’s graduate program in education. If accepted, they may choose from one of five concentrations:
- Elementary
- Middle Level
- Core-curriculum Secondary Education
- ESOL
- Word Language Education
