Tutor students in Colorado.
Helping Colorado students succeed with high-impact tutoring.
In Colorado, about one-third of students are proficient in reading and math. Together, we can help give kids more - more opportunities, more success, and more confidence.
Whether helping K-3 students with reading or working with middle school students to build foundational math skills, we train everyday people to make an incredible impact as tutors. Placed at local schools, our tutors provide extra practice and support to help students become stronger learners.
Operated by Colorado Youth for a Change, Reading Corps, Math Corps, and Early Learning Corps have already helped 23,980 Colorado students get on track to succeed! You can be part of creating more success stories in Colorado through tutoring.
The Need in Colorado
A strong foundation in reading and math is key to success as students dive into more complex subjects in middle school and high school. Proficiency in these subjects have been linked to high school graduation, college enrollment, and lifetime earnings. But in Colorado, fewer than half of fourth graders read at grade level, and only a third of students are proficient in math by eighth grade.
When students don’t get the support they need early on, it can be harder to build those skills later. That’s why high-impact tutoring is so important because it helps students build strong skills so they can succeed in school and beyond!
The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), often called The Nation’s Report Card, measures what students should know and be able to do in various subjects. Learn more about NAEP’s achievement levels and how standards are set.
